Volunteer Deputy Registrar Programs

Travis County Voter Registration relies heavily on the dedicated Volunteer Deputy Registrars (VDRs) to sustain our high voter registration numbers. It is important to engage our VDRs with programs designed specifically for them.

VDR Event and Engagement Programs

Once VDRs are trained, we then work to engage VDRs in registering voters.

These examples include the following:

  • The Travis County Volunteer Deputy Facebook Page

  • The Travis County VDR Community Website

  • Night of Networking

    • This was an event in which we paired civic engagement organizations with VDRs

    • Organizations set up their booths, and participating VDRs would network with these organizations and each other

    • We provided VDRs business cards to network with each other and other organizations

    • Before Covid-19, we would host these events in person. We hope to host virtual events soon

  • Virtual Town Halls and Seminars

    • These are virtual events hosted by Travis County Voter Registration and/or our partners

    • The purpose of these events is to inform VDRs about current events and updates in the VDR Program

  • The 100+ Club

    • This is an honorary club for VDRs who have registered more than 100 VDRs in a VDR Cycle which runs from January 1 of an odd numbered year to December 31 of the following even numbered year. (Example: January 1, 2021 thru December 31, 2022)

  • The Voter Registration Committees Program

    • This is a program in which Travis County Voter Registration pairs VDRs with certain community demographics.

  • The Mentorship Program

    • This is a program in which Travis County Voter Registration pairs new VDRs with more experienced VDRs
