Apartment Community Engagement (ACE)

Apartment communities represent a large population of potentially unregistered voters due to the high turnover rate of such communities. While they may be registered to vote, many of these residents will require aid to update their voter registration address.

This is where the Apartment Community Engagement (ACE) Program came in! Travis County Voter Registration partnered with the Austin Apartment Association or Triple A. Through that partnership we were able to make connections with apartment residents.

Here are the materials and methods used to connect to apartment residents through the ACE Program

We used the Apartment Manager Letter to inform apartment managers about ways they could register their tenants to vote
We hosted Apartment Outreach Trainings using the ACE Team Training Presentation in order to teach VDRs about how to connect with apartment residents in their zip code
We also provided boxes for mail-in forms for apartment lobbies; VDRs would partner with apartment complexes to keep these boxes stocked
